We spent four very, very snug nights in the "stoep-suite". This is a smaller, separate unit apart from the other cottages. It is just big enough for 2 people and features a mini-kitchen as part of the open plan bedroom and a very spacious, separate bathroom. The suite does not have the traditional karoo stoep, but it does have a decorated, enclosed space to sit outside and braai or gaze at the incredible view. There are plenty of hooks, drawers and a clothes rail for storing items to save space.

The nights were quite chilly, however the cast-iron fireplace with ample wood supply very quickly ensured a nice, warm and comfy room. Paired with the electric blankets, it's the perfect way to relax after a long day of exploring the surrounds. The suite was stocked with complimentary milk, juice, cereals, rusks, coffee and tea, as well as washes and lotions in the bathroom. Our room was made up daily, including the fireplace/braai area cleaned and the wood replenished - this was done discreetly by the friendly staff and it made a huge difference returning to a spotless room every day. We found the beds and clean linen comfy, with enough blankets to keep you warm during the night.

Whatever we needed was graciously provided at all times of the day. We never had issues with noise. It was certainly worth rising early to enjoy a coffee with rusks while watching the sunrise, diligently accompanied by Fluffball the cat.

Room tip: The Stoep Suite is not as large as the other cottages and does not have a stoep or full kitchen.

A very comfortable place to stay. May not be the cheapest in town, but lots of attention to detail and nice views over the Swartberg make it great. We'd consider staying there again as we will surely visit Prince Albert again.

Thank you Don. We are also dealing with your note on the tea not being labelled.

Looking into various options, is a good point, thanks.

Travel safely.. Howard.

We stayed in the Masterclass Cottage. Excellent service in a clean and well maintained cottage. The owner and his wife were extremely helpful. Thank you for the extra service (breakfast goodies etc.). We can only highly recommend this cottage.

We loved our stay. It is in a stunning and tranquil location The cottage is spacious and has all amenities. The wood fired hot tub is a great bonus (just remember to get enough wood). We would definitely recommend.

Thank you FellowTraveler.

The wood fired hot tubs are stunning. We do provide the first basket of wood at no charge, but in winter, always better to get more.

Lying in the hot water, looking at the stars, drinking a glass of wine, really well worth it.

Cheers. Howard.
