As an avid coffee lover, I've had many, many brews over the course of my life, both foreign and native. As such, I've gained a bit of an... Exotic taste, shall we say, one that can be quite difficult to please.
So imagine my surprise when I stumble upon a small little cafe on a trip out in Hout Bay. Rustic, warm and inviting, with a cheese cake to die for and a scenic view of the river, I highly recommend it for anyone passing through.
As a caffeine addict, their selection was pleasing and wide, subtle and varied enough to suit many a pallet yet not so overpowering to cause confusion or hesitance.
Their menu is quite diverse as well, with sweets and meals and sides aplenty. As I said, the cheese cake is to die for, and paired with a beautifully done Arabian blend, it serves only to heighten the experience. Had I brought a book, there's a good chance I wouldn't have left as the day drew closer to a close!
That is to say nothing of the service. With a nimble, quick, and lovely staff, they are also quite quite happy to endulge inquisitive minds and answer any questions aimed towards their business and selection.
With the holiday season now reaching its apex, the café offers itself as an oasis to weary and worn travellers and workers who need some time to unwind before and after a long day's work. Tensions may rise quickly during the waning days of mid December, so for all those looking for a moment of relaxation, a beautiful lunch or bunch location or the perfect place for a novelized date, I can not recommend them enough.
