I had lunch at this place today and encountered the worst womitting withing a few hours. Its was by far my worst expirience in SouthAfrica, and the only one.
Please beware. I also alarmed the police, but the said i need so see a doctor in order to get my blood tested, so the can shut down this place!!

Hi Danielo

I am sorry to hear of your bad experience of being ill however this was in no ways caused by your eating lunch at our restaurant. We operate and have for more than 5 years with the highest hygiene standards and without incident. In fact the couple sitting next to you on the day you had lunch, have since been back twice. I find it highly unacceptable that you have targeted my restaurant when you could have felt ill or picked up a virus from various other sources especially while travelling. It's also disappointing that you did not have the decency to contact me personally before writing this unsubstantiated allegation.
Kind regards
Neil & Debbie

We took a My Citi bus from Sea Point to Hout Bay just so we could eat at The Indian Oven again. Such great food!!!! And terrific service - always a good sign to see servers still working in a place more than a year later.

On this visit, my husband had the lamb korma, I had the lamb madras, with basmati rice and garlic naan. This was by far the best lamb we've had anywhere in South Africa. So incredibly tender and flavourful. We started with tandoori prawns which were fabulous!

All of our food was incredibly tasty and fresh. Generous portions. Reasonable prices. Terrific service. I think we'll probably head back for one more meal. We wish we could clone The Indian Oven and bring them to a few other countries on the continent.

And...they stay open during load shedding. The kitchen operates mostly on gas, so with the exception of a few dishes, everything else is available.

This welcoming Indian restaurant serves Indian and 'South African' Indian food such as bunny chow and Durban style curry. Highly recommended are the vegetarian main coursesand chef's special dishes with fenugreek. Portions are generous and prices reasonable.
