We took a My Citi bus from Sea Point to Hout Bay just so we could eat at The Indian Oven again. Such great food!!!! And terrific service - always a good sign to see servers still working in a place more than a year later.
On this visit, my husband had the lamb korma, I had the lamb madras, with basmati rice and garlic naan. This was by far the best lamb we've had anywhere in South Africa. So incredibly tender and flavourful. We started with tandoori prawns which were fabulous!
All of our food was incredibly tasty and fresh. Generous portions. Reasonable prices. Terrific service. I think we'll probably head back for one more meal. We wish we could clone The Indian Oven and bring them to a few other countries on the continent.
And...they stay open during load shedding. The kitchen operates mostly on gas, so with the exception of a few dishes, everything else is available.
