to go to for friendly service, excellent food and pleasant surroundings. We always enjoy the medium curry it's nice and spicy but you can still taste the ingredients.

This welcoming Indian restaurant serves Indian and 'South African' Indian food such as bunny chow and Durban style curry. Highly recommended are the vegetarian main coursesand chef's special dishes with fenugreek. Portions are generous and prices reasonable.

The biryani we had was not up to satisfaction, average as well as the curry.
The restaurant and their foods don’t Iook inviting to me this visit.
personally think they use to do much better. Since there’s a few more Indian restaurants keep coming up in and around Hout Bay, this restaurant themself need to do better to stand out amongst the others or at least keep us coming back.

We were invited to join some friends at The Indian Oven in Hout Bay. Not dining out on that side of the mountain much, we had no idea what to expect!
What a gem of a place. Very non-descript from the street, but so lovely as soon as Neil opens the doors and welcomes you. He and Debbie were amazing hosts, and their attentiveness made for a memorable evening.

The food was sublime and they didn’t falter on a table of 12 people. Prince did an outstanding job keeping up with us, especially for those who had never eaten an authentic curry. (Half the guests were from the USA)

The portions are very decent with most of us not able to finish our meals.

Warning - their Vindaloo is HOT HOT HOT!!

Exceptional value for money
We had all already dived in when we realized we had no photos - but the pics on their Facebook page are exactly as we received our food!

Enjoy
