We held a family reunion lunch there last week (for nine). The food, drink and service was excellent and the views were breath taking. There were white clouds drifting across the mountains, overlooking a bright, sunlit harbour and the seals were swimming a short distance from our table.
There was an excellent range of seafood dishes, together with steaks and vegetarian options on the menu.

We went here for diner and it was awesome. Great views, great atmosphere and funny to see the seals playing in front of the deck in the harbour.
All together a definite yes!

We currently have friends from the UK staying with us and in advance booked a table for 12 people for a late lunch. We arrived a little early but phoned before asking whether we should come through or wait a bit and were told to come through. We get there and the tables aren’t ready so we were told to wait by the bar. We thought we’d just sit by the bar and grab a drink. No. There wasn’t a single space for anyone of us so we stand and wait while the waiters pass us every 20 seconds. Eventually we complain and were told to rather wait at a table inside. We do so and decide we may as well sit inside. It’s not the end of the world. Then just two minutes later were told our table is ready. Fantastic! We go to the table, and our waiter rudely tells us we must move our table so that more people can fit. We do so and end up in the sun. This waiter couldn’t remember our orders, brought our drinks after our food, the food was no longer hot and he couldn’t have been bothered to fix the drink order he got wrong. When we spoke to the manager we were told we had to pay for that drink because we had tried it and our correct order never turned up. This whole experience was humiliating and all 12 of us will never be back. I can understand slow service in a busy place, but the attitude and disrespect we received was absolutely shocking. Not to mention that we were all amazed at how quickly the bill was handed to us when it took a good 20min just to get some napkins.

this reataurant is in the Port of Hout Bay and its fairly expensive for Cape Town, ( most expensive we saw anywhere) according to the staff the sole is frozen, the crayfish is small and iced . One member of our party ordered a hamburger cooked medium but received a dark grey patty which he returned, but the new patty wasnt much better - just a lighter grey ( to their credit they didn't charge for it) my kingklip fillet had a bone in it that I choked on and the explanation I got was that they can't check each piece of fish and that it is written on the menu ( I checked it was written on the back of the menu underneath the breakfasts]. The beef hamburgers cost between R97 and R127, the location is beautiful, the sea breeze outstanding but despite the revamp they apparently just did, the prices are not justified by the quality of the food

We hopped off at the Hout Bay harbour during our hop on hop off bus trip and discovered this restaurant whilst exploring the harbour.
The restaurant is situated in a prime location, but I am unsure how to reach the restaurant if not on foot through the industrial part of the harbour... it has great views of the boats and harbour.
The staff were very attentive and the service we received was very good.
The menu also looked very good - we only had a few small snacks to eat. They have pizza and sushi as well as normal fish dishes (eg. calamari and fish). They also had nice beers on tap.
I would definitely recommend this place for a late afternoon meal/dinner, and we will be back next time for the food.
