Moules marinieres had never seen white wine or cream - split cheese sauce with gritty mussels - about 1/10 if that - staff were good but food overpriced and awful

Dear "Iandouglas"

I am sorry you did not leave our establishment satisfied.

Our Mussels Mariniere has mussles that are firstly are steamed with white wine, before serving we place a veloute over then we add our signature garlic butter sauce (no cream or cheese) as per our strict recipe. This is perhaps different to what you are used to but it is one of our best selling dishes. If it was not to your liking, it is a pity you did not return it and we would have replaced it with something to your satisfaction. Our prices are kept to a strict mark-up and are competitive to similar establishments so I am not sure what you mean by 'overpriced'. You are welcome to contact me on shaunb@marinerswharf.co.za to give me further detail so we can understand and investigate further.

The Wharfside Grill is located in Mariner's Wharf in Hout Bay.
Its location on the second floor provides patrons with a stunning view over the bay and to the mountains.
On a beautiful day it is a great place to spend a lazy afternoon, a sunset over drinks or a romantic dinner.
Staff are very attentive and service is good.
Parking is available downstairs and staff look after the carpark while you dine.

You feel like having some fun and eat the fresh catch of the day? Look no further - situated in Harbour Road, Hout Bay, you will find Mariner's Wharf Harbourfront Emporium where you can either sit and eat while watching the seals playing in the water amongst fishing boats (and definitely check out the guy feeding the seals by putting fish in his mouth, the seal then jumps out the water to fetch the fish from his mouth) or have a take away meal. What fun! What a great meal! Definitely the best fish and calamari ever!! And after you had your meal visit the pearl shop or the shell shop or the antique shop .

We have been eating here for the last 8 years and it has never failed us. The service is excellent; the food is very good and as you can imagine the fish is very fresh, and sometimes not on the menu, but you will be told about it. It is part of a complex of fish merchants and other stores, and on the coast, so you can wander down to the beach after a meal.
It is on the Tourist bus route from the Waterfront, Cape Town, so there is no need get caught for drinking and driving. It is also on the MyCiti bus route, and if memory serves correct it is the 108 to Hout Bay.
