“Convenient location. Close to beach and Chapmans Peak”

Travelling from the UK we wanted somewhere conviently close to Cape Town and friends suggested Hout Bay as a good base to explore from. This is about a 20 minute drive from Cape Town and offers stunning scenery, the bay area is beautiful and there are plenty of local amenities that kept us happy, such as shops, restaurants and boat rides from the harbour.

We stayed for 8 nights in this apartment having spent the previous two nights at the Raj hotel in the centre of town. We recieved a reasonably warm welcome from the management office for the complex and were shown into the apartment itself. Parking is gated so we felt safe leaving the car there, even if the parking spaces are a little tight to negotiate.

The apartment is kitted out to a reasonable standard and the self catering facilities are excellent, the bedrooms were warm and cosy and having underfloor heating made a big difference in the evening when it became chilly outside.

One thing that we hadn't encountered on was the building site directly opposite the appartment!! Which meant we didn't feel comfortable having the main curtain open during the day and the workers were fairly noisy from about 8am in the morning to sometimes 7pm at night - Now we did get a 40% discount when booking the apartment so I won't go too crazy but it would have been nice too have known about the construction happening next door in advance.

With that said we mainly used the apartment as a base for exploring so the builders didn't spoil our visit. If you're going to eat locally I can certainly recommend Kitima and Spiro's restaurants' - for Kitima best to book in advance.

It got very windy in the evenings and they buffeted the side of the apartment so hard on a couple of occasions I thought it was going to take the roof off - I suspect its probably due to the time of year we were there,

Other than the builders, overall happy with our stay here with few complaints.

I am pleased this guest had a good holiday and found the accomodation of a good standard, although surprised to find they were unaware that the signifcant discount provided related to any potential inconvenience experinced from the construction work nearby. That said, the work is complete so no longer an issue.
