Description: The restaurant is a local institution, renowned worldwide for the best Calamari in Cape Town, with a popular sun-drenched terrace overlooking the bay and mountains. Calamari at the Chapmans Peak was voted as "one of top 20 things to do in Cape Town".It’s the ideal location for those lingering sunsets and balmy evenings. A sun-drenched verandah boasting spectacular views of the bay offers an alternative eating venue for those wishing to dine Al fresco. And in those winter months, it’s one of few places in the Cape with fireplaces (dating back 100yrs)

We made a very disappointing choice of restaurant on the Peninsula, for a night out with friends visiting from out of Cape Town. We all have children, so booked for evening meal at 5.30pm but service incredibly slow even though it wasn't busy when we arrived, and then all the meals took over an hour to arrive. Highly priced for small main meal portion sizes, and only one serving left of the one children's menu choice available.

Always busy, so book in advance, but the atmosphere, the food, and the view is nothing short of magical.

Since my last visit to this restaurant, the size of the portions has definitely decreased in size and increased in price. The steak and calamari combo is unbeatable, but I will think twice about ordering it again as I do not think you get value for money. The calamari arrived without tartar sauce as well.... hm. Service friendly and professional as always

Good for a couple looking for some quality food or even larger groups looking for a nice sunset drink! Having been around for a long time this venue has staying power.

We had the Calamari and Steak combo which was very good. The calamari is possibly the best I've ever had. The service was pleasant and efficient. Great view of the ocean.
