thought long and hard about rating and 3.5 probably fairer - we had the blanc room and to be honest a bit disappointed - rugs were stained and tiling in shower looked a bit scruffy - colour wouldnt help - no bar or license either and with restaurants closing around 9.30pm had a few early nights ! service was very good although we did have a very rude old guy on the last day who was either a guest or owner not sure.

Room tip: dont go for blanc room

Thank you for taking the time to review and give us feedback on your stay with us.
I will relay the above maintenance issues to ensure these are improved!

Please Note:
Acquiring a liquor licence in South Africa is a time-consuming ordeal, we hope this to be finalised later this year.

Hotel Guests, however, are within walking distance of two pubs/bars, a microbrewery and cocktail lounge. (less than 500m)

We only stayed here for one evening. That was not long enough to really appreciate this well located hotel just steps from the main street. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We appreciated our room which was very modern with king size bed, open contemporary bath with separate shower and tub, and a nice bar area with coffee, tea, water and a complimentary bottle of delicious red wine. Only wish we could’ve stayed here longer. It will be a spot we will return to. Thank you.

I really enjoyed staying at the Franschhoek Boutique Hotel. It's right in the centre of the village, with the wine tram ticket office right outside. Cosy comfy room, lovely decor, breakfast is good and the staff are great. I had a reservation at a village restaurant and didn't want to walk on my own, so the owner walked with me to save me the taxi fare! Also they have an arrangement with the restaurant next door to deliver food to your room if you feel like cosying up and enjoying the mountain views in front of the in-room wood-burning stove. Great welcome, great service, great food, great location - what more could you ask? Highly recommended.

Had an awesome weekend for Bastille festival - ran in the trail run and hotel were very hospitable with arranging early breakfast for us. Breakfasts are amazing and would highly recommend eating there before venturing out exploring. Rooms are super comfy and very modern. Stunning views into mountains. Really great and will be back!
