As one of our stops on the Franschhoek Wine Tram, we opted to get off and spend some time at Chamonix Wine Farm to do two different tastings and to learn a bit about the Vineyard itself.
Although this Wine Farm isn't amongst the most spectacular for views on the route, it is of course known for both its wines and mineral waters, and is also one of the oldest farms in the area dating back to the Huguenot Estate, La Cotte, in 1688. Even the tasting area itself is located in "The Blacksmiths Cottage" built in the late 18th Century so there is plenty of history here for the history buffs.
Notable mention to Joyce in their tasting rooms who was exceptional and actually made the visit for me! She was so exceptional in fact, that I asked her for a photo which I will attach to this review.
There is a comprehensive range of wines but of the two tastings that we chose, I preferred the Reserve selection of wines. I would recommend it as a stop on the route.More
