Elegant boutique hotel newly renovated. Comfortable beds. Some of the rooms with private pools. The hotel has a super nice and helpful staff, excellent service, and good breakfast. Good position in the village, a calm street yet close to the main street, restaurants, and shopping.

This property that originated in 1888 is truly a remarkable piece and worthy of its 5* grading - For those who prefer a more trendier setup, that too is available in another wing adjasent to the original building - The large ooms are all individually decored and accommodating of most preferences - The service is exceptional and manager, Chris, the type of guy who will exhaust all avenues to ensure a perfect experience - The property is very safe and within a walking distance from the town's main center - It is also close to most wine estates and eateries - We found the place to be super neat and welcoming - A must visit for atleast 3 nights when in Franschhoek - Well done Chris for a memorable experience - We will return.

Our family group of ten adults stayed at Chapter House for two nights last month and had a grand time. The hotel is ideally located in Franchhoek just off the main drag and is a short walking distance to myriad restaurants and shops. If you want to enjoy the town on foot this is an ideal hotel.
With our group of ten we had five rooms and the fun thing about the hotel being an older building is that in the "old" half of the hotel the rooms are all somewhat different - this is not a cookie cutter type hotel.
As others have mentioned the lobby and main fireplace is wonderful and our experience with the staff was fantastic. The breakfast is also wonderful with a wide ranges of warm and cold food options so you can easily find what appeals to your diet.
All in all this is a great hotel in the best location in town if you want to explore Franschhoek and all it has to offer.

We have travelled extensively and this boutique hotel is one of the best we have ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with great warmth. The hotel is a renovated old building and has kept its charm, and yet has modern touches. The breakfast had lots of variety on the menu and they also served the tastiest freshly cooked almond croissants/Danish pastries you could wish to eat! Another nice touch is the complimentary home baked cake and coffee in the afternoons. The pool is a nice size. I had a wonderful back and neck massage followed by a facial at the spa. We really cannot rate this place highly enough and whilst all the staff were very pleasant, we make a special mention to Max and Kazi who were so friendly and helpful and ensured we were well looked after throughout our stay.

Very friendly and very helpful staff. Outstanding accommodations. Historical building with plenty of modern additions to make it feel comfortable. A very cozy vibe, especially with the massive fireplace in the middle of the lobby. Climate controlled rooms, delicious breakfast and charming atmosphere made this a must stay hotel.

The original building was built as a mission house in 1888. When we renovated a few years ago we were determined to restore many of the old beautiful heritage elements on this old house, but also couple it with the amenities and facilities that make a hotel stay so special.
