Description: Monneaux Restaurant ranks among South Africa's top restaurants, and serves an inspired contemporary take on the classics. Lunch is enjoyed on the fountain terrace under a spreading pepper tree while dinner is enjoyed in the elegant but relaxed dining room in the original manor house. Set on the original site of Franschhoek's first parfumerie, today its the heavenly scent of chef Adrian Buchanans cooking that inspires at the Monneaux Restaurant, a Cape culinary classic. Even by the food & wine capital of the country's high standards, Monneaux is an extra-ordinary success, having been in the country's Top 100 list for six years consecutively, on the Top 10 list for two years and winning the American Express Platinum Award for fine dining. The underground cellar is available for private functions where dinner can be enjoyed by an impressive selection of local and foreign wines. The restaurant's bar lounge provide a comfortable environment to relax and enjoy the company you're with. The wine list emphasizes the boutique wines of the Franschhoek Valley as well as an impressive selection of other award winning wines of South Africa

Inspiring menu, great food, great service and the most beautiful setting in an old perfume factory reminding me of “A Good Year”.
What we highly appreciate is their pick-up service that also drives you back after your dinner. In a city where Uber is not consistently present and taxis confuse themselves with limousine service, this gesture from Monneaux is damn clever.
We where here 3 years ago and we will be back.

Very good restaurant in a great setting. We found the small plates an excellent idea. Better than a tasting menu because you can choose what takes your fancy and you can decide how many you have. Every dish we tried was a delight. Well worth a visit.

An impressive setting, as most are in Franschhoek, but the atmosphere at Monneaux on this particular evening was a little lacking.

It was a quiet evening admittedly, with only a few patrons.

It was a little formal for our tastes and failed to deliver the warmth you would hope for.

The menu offered either small plates (tapas style) or a Chefs Selection. We opted for the Chef’s selection which was great value, beautifully presented and delicious.

The main issue was the lack of atmosphere and warmth which is so evident in the other restaurants around In Franschhoek. It may have been just a slow night?!?

We have been coming to Franschhoek for the past five years and this was our first visit to Manneaux Restaurant. The restaurant is approximately one kilometer out of town. We had a car but this is not necessary to get there. We have been told by the manager that they offer too and from taxi service from the town to the restaurant. The restaurant offers little meals of different types of food. We each had 4 portions and each was quite good. In fact on Sunday our last day we decided to come back for dinner and had a number of different dishes also quite good. If they offer the tomato soup make sure you get it.

Between myself and my wife we tired all the plates on the menu! And all of them where great, my personal favorite was the chicken and prawn curry. The stuff is well trained and on point. Well done. Thanks for a great food night.
