We took some family and friends and decided to spend 2 weeks at The Residence for lockdown. The plan was to work, connect, relax and enjoy what the Residence has to offer. It was a stay that we will cherish forever. Every single detail was impeccable, the property is one of a kind, the flow of the home, the multiple, ever-burning fires, the friendly staff, the world-class chef (Corne), the beautiful wine (drink the V&L Boet Erasmus) is but a few highlights.

Cooking marshmallows under the stars at the outside boma on the bonfire next to the dam was something the kids won't forget. Soccer games on the lawns and endless braai's were the order of the day.

From canoe trips on the dam, evening sundowners on the scenic deck, to cosy movie nights in the rain - we did it all, we took it all in and we will definitely be back

Enjoyed a 1 week stay with friends and family at this fabulous location near Franschoek, situated in a large and lovely wine farm.

It was a perfect location to take in the broader wine country in Franschoek, and Stellenbosch, and also about 50 minutes for the occasional drive to Capetown.

Corne was an excellent and attentive host who was available, easy to reach and attentive to all our needs.

I would highly recommend this location for large groups and/or family stays.

My family and I had the privilege of staying at The Residence @ Vrede & Lust for a few nights when we were waiting for our property transfer to go through before we could move into our new home. Although it was not a holiday as such, it absolutely felt like one. The Residence is beautifully designed and with the large open spaces for the entertainment areas, the coziness is not lost at all. Even though Corné, who is the General Manager of The Residence, says that it is a summer house, we were very comfortable and felt like we were in a resort somewhere with the best amenities. Corné and his team looked after us extremely well and the attention to detail in every respect was duly noted. I can definitely recommend The Residence for any family or friends come rain or shine, it's a magnificent home away from home!!
