What an amazing experience and beautiful place. Could properly switch off, enjoy the fire and outdoors, was treated to a plated breakfast in the mornings and warmly welcomed by our own personal butler.

Arriving at the palatial gates, the garden view takes your breath away. We were welcomed by General Manager Corne Yzel who ensured that we were taken care of throughout our stay greeting us each morning with cappuccinos and a delicious healthy and hearty English breakfast. The house is luxurious and most comfortable. The music system superior.
Outside, the bird life was our main attraction, the willows reflecting in the calm water. At night, it was the glowing fire pit with its abundance of wood which was delivered daily. The two little ones both a year old loved the jungle gym and spacious lawn.
This stay far exceeded our expectations and we shall definitely be back!

It was the first time we've had an in-house cook-off and I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. I am super excited for the next visit and we will do our best to make it just as memorable as this one. We celebrated my 60th birthday party with family and friends over 2 days at this fantastic venue. We were treated like royalty by the friendly staff and Corne and his team went all out to ensure that our stay was a most memorable one. JP from Lust Bistro provided us with the delicious evening meals. We all give you 5 stars and can’t recommend it highly enough. Many thanks for a wonderful time spent with you.

Really beautiful guest house: spacious, clean, comfortable and luxurious, in a lovely setting. Host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after. I would highly recommend staying here.

The Residence was absolutely amazing. Great attention to detail, a tranquil space to relax while being treated like royalty. We were taken care of by a fantastic host, while enjoying superb facilities. By far the best winelands property for a large group. Immaculate living spaces, endless views and pure bliss. Highly recommend a few nights to soak it all up.

We stayed at The Residence @ Vrede & Lust for a week as part of a wedding in Mary 2020 (last week pre Covid). The setting is absolutely stunning and it the house offers a great retreat away from the busy crowds, serving wonderful wines.
The house is staffed by a helpful team that takes care of every wish and serves an outstanding breakfast in the morning.
Now that Covid-19 has hit the world I think back at our time there, and remember it as a place that would be perfect to lock up for a week with family and friends, enjoying the amenities without much of a need to venture out.
The nearest town is a bit of a drive away. We enjoyed using the large outdoor BBQ and wonderful internal kitchen, but on our next visit we would consider hiring a cook for our time there.
I highly recommend this place, for a large group of friends. The rooms are huge and spaced far apart. This property is unique because it offers privacy when desired, but with large common areas for the group to convene.

Hi Fabian, it was right before the pandemic changed all of our our lives and now we look at life very differently and have to embrace a new normal. Thank you VERY much for the kind words. It really was a pleasure to host you and your family and friends. You are absolutely right in that our establishment will be very popular with clients once travel restrictions are eased. At The Residence @ Vrede & Lust you are completely private and exclusive. It is only you and your family and/or friends and you don't need to leave. Everything and all amenities are at your fingertips with minimum exposure. I know that you are a very busy man and thank you again for taking the time to write this wonderful review for us. I am looking forward to seeing you again very soon then.
