These cabins are very new. They are perched up on red dunes and have beautiful views of the sand, grasses, horizon below, and the magnificent sunsets. They are extremely comfortable and built so that one is quite warm even on cold June nights. Be careful of puff adders as one walks to one’s cabin from the car. The attendant skillfully removed one in our path with a special stick, which was fascinating to watch. The water hole is very far so it is difficult to see the game and there isn’t very much game there. However one is just a few kilometers from the game-rich road between Urikaruus and Mata Mata.

Ohhh what a nice place!!!

Very welcoming check-in and presentation of the dune cabin by the “guard”.

Totally 5 cabins separated from each other and each has a very nice and secured outdoor patio overlooking the dunes and a small waterhole.

The cabins are very luxury … compared to what we expected. Complete kitchen utensils … close to what we have at home and far better than found in apartments in the Mediterranean if we may compare.

Wonderful place!!!

The 5 units at Kieliekrankie were redone in May 2017 and are fabulous. A spacious and well equipped kitchen, a room with a fan, and a great deck overlooking a waterhole in the crater. We had an amazing braai in the evening whilst watching the sunset. Location if quite central and near the Auob River. The camp had a problem with the solar batteries which died around midnight, leaving us without a fan and no fridge, plus no water as the pumps rely on solar.

The path one has to walk from the parking area to the cabin, is not an easy stroll - especially with a lot of luggage ready to stay for 3 nights, but fortunately Jacques who was on duty lend a helping hand.
The unit is very well equipped with fridge and all amenities. Mattresses felt brand new with good linen as well.
Unit was serviced every day, but wash your own dishes - that is your responsibility.
No internet - occasional signal for a WhatsApp or two to go out only if you were fortunate.
Only a few units (4 or 5) so the wilderness camp is quiet and you get all the rest you need.

Stayed for one night during a road trip of South Africa, I could only get one night or I would have stayed more. book it through the SAN Parks service.
Clean and basic, yes mice seen on the deck but you are in the African wilderness!
it was great and I want to go back.
