Having had one or two bad experiences booking unfamiliar accommodation in this part of the world, we were unsure about Kings Walden garden Manor, But thats were the uncertainty ended. Driving up out of the town of Tzaneen and the noise and people, going ever higher into green heavens, taking a tun onto the dirt road and entering the gate posts of what feels like a time gone by, almost old world India tea plantation style from a gone by era.. and arriving at our destination of a position that is perched on a hill overlooking rolling green forests, and plantations and vegetation that simply takes your breath away. Modern, yet classic is how we would describe the decor, vast rooms, with fireplaces, friendly reception and pleasant staff, warm and welcoming. The gardens are like a secret garden , with many little treasured corners to reflect, and wonder at the views, One can almost hear the laughter of grand happenings of the past echoing and see the love and time and effort making these gardens live on. Wonderful dinners are served and the ambience is relaxed and easy going. A central lounge are if one need TV and a fireplace,, with a bar, broad patios to relax on and watch the sun go down. in summer we imagine the pool to be a fabulous spot to cool down. But still this doesn't fully describe the magic that exists here. A definite spot to indulge and well worth the rate,

This is a beautiful property with a great restaurant. It's was perfect for our short overnight stay on the way to the Kruger. The staff were attentive and helpful with any request. The rooms were well appointed and had their own fireplaces which was a nice touch. The beds were extremely comfortable and the only criticism was that there is no fridge in the room which would be helpful for those staying more than one night.

First time I write something about a hotel, this place deserve it!!!
I do not know what is better, the atmosphere, the great view, the nice people or the great food. But mixing all this together brings a great place to visit!
This is a romantic, beautiful and great place to visit.

You know that you are in for something special when you have to drive down a secluded dirt road to arrive at the venue.
Were not guests at the venue but came to view the garden and see the view. It is very special indeed. The garden and indeed the atmosphere speaks of an earlier generation when tehre was more leisure time and a level of opulence that one no longer finds in many places.
