Description: Unique setting in a relaxed atmosphere at the edge of the ocean. Kick off your shoes and put your toes in the sand. Our restaurant is situated on Clapton’s Beach between Jeffreys Bay and Aston Bay where “locals” and visitors come together to enjoy a mouth-watering array of seafood together with other South African dishes cooked to perfection on the coals. Die Walskipper offers the ideal location for special occasions such as weddings, birthday celebrations or just for an amazing lunch or dinner with an incredible view. We are passionate about food and about bringing people together, helping you to create memories. We look forward to welcoming you to our “little piece of heaven”

What a beautiful place to sit and admire the view. We had a lovely waitress on the 28th Feb when we were there. We watched while people and children alike walked around on the sand and rocks. The water trickled out to sea from a stream alongside the restaurant. This is not a cheap place, but I am sure if you eat here it will be amazing cuisine. See you next time!

The Wlaskipper is the type of venue where your body catches up with your soul. All your senses are fed when you relax at the beachfront venue. The food is outstanding! They cater for all tastes and budgets. The service is great and friendly. We got engaged at The Walskipper and it really was a very special occassion. Kick of your shoes and dig your toes into the sea sand while the fresh breeze from the ocean blows over you and your tastebuds are tantalized by the amazing smells from the kitchen. The wine list is also good!

This restaurant is directly on the beach. The quality of the food is great.
The service is outstanding. We were given a table, so we could supervise the kids on the beach while having a drink.

We are pensioners from Jeffreys Bay who eat at Walskipper on a regular basis every 2 months. I always book our "special" table near the sea when we go and enjoy our evening out. So sorry that the evening I booked for us and asked for our table , which was not booked when i phoned, was decided by the NEW MANAGER to change our booking and give our table to someone else. Really disgusted when we arrived to get a table right at the back and not even near to the sea and see other guests enjoying the view we were used to. The rice has also changed to plain white dry rice , where we were used to really delicious yellow rice with spice and flavour with our calamari and hake. Looks like shorts cut are going to be made by new management to make more money????? Not good for your customers!!!!

Hi Terry
Thank you for your feedback. We are so sad to hear that you were not happy. I would like to assure you, as Management, to my knowledge no booked tables were given away. I really wish you asked to speak to either of us in order for us to assist you with a table of your choice.

With regards to the rice, we have not changed our rice, I will however discuss your feedback with our kitchen, we still serve the same yellow rice. In actual fact, we have not made any changes to our menu or the types of food we serve our customers, and we have the same staff. No short cuts have been taken, anywhere.

I invite you to please join us for a meal and give us the opportunity to restore your faith in us. Please ask for Shawn or Michelle when you book and we will ensure you have your favourite table.

Walskipper is a very special place. The atmosphere is great so close to the ocean with the fire place lit up the fresh coffee and bread you can smell. The food is just top quality always with good service all year round. It can get very busy in holiday times so booking is a good idee. Its also not the cheapest place to go eat, the prices are expensive on some dishes but delicious! If you have small kids be carefull as the ocean is very close.
