We visited Cape May with another couple for a long weekend. First visit for all of us to the town. Unfortunately, it rained during the entire time and we left a day early and lost the last night's non-refundable cost. The inclement weather did not make for an ideal introduction to Cape May, which we enjoyed anyway.
The location of the Heritage Inn proved to be perfect for us. It was within easy walking distance to many good restaurants and the Washington Street mall and directly across from the beach. Our room was comfortable and clean and the staff helpful and informative. I did notice that the lighting in the room could have been better but other than that minor issue the room was adequate to our needs.
A couple of things to know: 1. The hotel has three levels and there is no elevator. If you are on the third level you will have a nice view but will be climbing stairs (with luggage). 2. Parking is limited. There are five parking spots on the street level that are usually occupied. There is a lot in the back a short walk from the hotel for other vehicles. I got the very last spot in the lot when we returned from an excursion the first night and was afraid to move the car again. I don't know where you would park if that lot is full.More
