Without its great location, right on the beach, this hotel would likely drop to a 2 stars.
Tired old building, which has done minimal updating, but attempt is clearly there. Our room had poor amount of household equipment, had to ask for a bottle opener-not a factor for us since we didn't use the kitchen, other than the fridge. Bathroom was tiny, but clean.
Lobby is narrow, some vestiges of the old charm, but very little seating. Elevators are sloooow, painfully so...we were on the 4th fl & often took the stairs-doable from the 4th floor, but tough if on a higher floor or if you have all of your beach items to carry.
Our room was clean, but the hallways were very dirty-a used razor blade remained on the floor outside our room our entire stay.
The hotel sits conveniently right at the entrance to a public beach...that said, a word of warning-it is VERY crowded, especially after bus after bus after bus arrived from the big casino hotels. If you walk just a short way to the left of the lifeguard stand, crowds are smaller.
There is a tiki bar type restaurant attached to the hotel, fun, loud music, but it was not a problem for us in our room
All in all, the hotel's location in the sleepy beach town of Brigantine, makes its shortcomings more acceptable
