We arrived Oct 3rd and left early morning on Oct 5th. We were welcomed by Carol who gave us the check in information, showed us to our room. WHAT a ROOM.!! Just like staying at a favorite home. The room had one queen bed, a plush rocker, chair table, flat screen TV and was CLEANEST room we've ever stayed in.
There aren't alot of choices in the Twin Mtn area and we typically book at chains so I was a bit worried about booking however, this experience has changed our minds completely. Moving forward we will start to include small lodgeing in our travels.
If you have ever seen White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kay this is what this lodge reminded me of. The grounds are lovely. Huge purple flower boxes at every window on the front. This is a family lodge it's loaded with the family pride , photos and loved reading the story about Carol's Daddy. We are already planning to return next year !!
TIP : There isn't alot of dinner options in the area I would suggest you head to Littleton ( about 20 min) where there are several options at a lower cost. Or better yet talk to Carol about a Kitchnette and bring groceries with you if you have a mind.
Enjoy this most beautiful place and people.

Room tip: Don't Miss this one. It's a rare find !!

When I decided to visit the White Mountains I started looking for lodging and food accommodations. Pickings were rather limited from my point of view. I decided on Carlson's Lodge in Twin Mountain. The owner was very helpful and I committed. When we arrived the Lodge was the best available in the region, with the exception of the overpriced resorts nearby. We had a great stay. Limited WiFi and limited Ice were the only negatives. We would go back in a heartbeat.

This is a place worth every cent. Spacious rooms, clean, friendly hosts. Located in White mountains national park, it is a perfect starting point for hinting, or taking the rail to Mount Washington. Quiet and peaceful surroundings.

We were only staying one night as visiting the Cog Mountain Railway the next morning. But would have happily stayed longer. The place had real character and charm - very friendly staff which had a real family feel. Room was very clean and comfortable and quiet and had everything you need. We went to a nearby restaurant for dinner as recommended which was just fine. Very pleasant stay! Bet it's lovely in winter too!

Stayed in August for a hiking trip with friends. Hiking the ammounusic ravine, this quiet, clean, and charming lodge is conveniently located to many trailheads throughout the White mountains. Carol was very friendly, personable, and very informative on places to visit and restaurants to try.We enjoyed the beautiful veiws from our windows, and overall a clean, comfortable, and affordable stay. Definitely recommend.
