We stayed here for 5 nights between Christmas and New Year's with our two small children. Paul (the owner) couldn't have been nicer -- he stayed in the in-law apartment but never "bothered" us. He gave us ideas for things to do with the kids and was very approachable and helpful. We got about a foot of snow over the course of a day or two, and he made sure everything was cleared out for us. The views are really nice and you feel like you're "away from it all" even though you're quite close to downtown North Conway. The Wifi is fast and reliable, we were able to stream Netflix movies on our laptop with no problem.
The house itself isn't fancy (e.g. indoor-outdoor carpet in the main living area, which makes sense since some renters will likely tromp through with snow) but it had everything we needed. Well-appointed kitchen, comfortable sitting area with a cozy gas stove, washer/dryer, and two comfortable bedrooms. The grounds had plenty of room for the kids to run around and play in the snow. We didn't get a chance to try walking the trails but Paul showed us where they left from (right by the house) and I would have had no qualms taking our small kids on them.
A couple of logistical notes for future renters -- we had brought a blow-up twin bed along with us that we were hoping to use in the second bedroom so our kids could have separate beds, but there wasn't room for it. There would likely be room I think for a small porta-crib though. Our kids (3 and 6) just ended up sharing the queen-sized bed and they loved it. If our kids were a bit older maybe we would have put one up in the loft but we wanted to be able to watch TV after they went to bed so opted for the shared bedroom. Also, there is no dinner table, however the two nights that we ate at the house we put ourselves (grown-ups) at the separate high-top, the kids at the breakfast bar, and made it a movie night watching Netflix on our laptop, so it worked out fine for us.
