While looking for authentic street tacos, I gave Beto’s, a fast-food joint, a try by ordering a plate of Pastor tacos and a plate of carne asada tacos. Both meats were cooked on a griddle and lacking that authentic charcoal flavor. Neither the rice nor beans had any flavor. Their hot sauce was just average but did help the plates. Chips, guacamole and pico de gallo cost extra. The chips were bland, cold and greasy. The guacamole, however, was good, not thinned with anything. Their horchata and chili relleno was good as well. I’ll keep looking for those tacos.
