Are in the best shape of 2 other locations of kilns in the Western US that I have seen. Is over 6 miles down a dirt road, may not be sport car friendly. With rumbles and dust. Has no picnic area. Does had primitive bathrooms.

We weren't expecting much but found this to be an experience to remember. We're quite the musical family and found the ovens to be very acoustically appealing. We sang and hummed in each one to find their resonance pitch as well as to listen to the acoustics.

These kilns are just off the road outside of Ely. They are worth the drive. The history of these kilns is worth the drive. You will find the history all along the trail. You can step inside of these kilns.

Incredible out of the way monuments of the Old West Past. These huge 30 foot high by 27 foot across the base, rock ovens are constructed in perfect size and shape. Trails, campground and General Store . Plus clean rest room

Nice little park, and interesting history. Don't miss this, even though it is about 7 miles of dirt road off the regular highway. A great summary of unique life in this part of the world, and links to the mining history of the area. Takes about 15 minutes drive off the highway and about 30 minutes to stroll through this Nevada State park.
