My wife and I got married at Lythwood 10 years ago and it was handled beautifully. This time we took our 3 year old twins for a few days while I was working in PMB. Lythwood does not disappoint - we booked a self catering chalet and everything was as we had remembered - immediately giving you a real luxury country feel. Apparenlty it's now under new management but they have held up the same standard as the previous owners.
The staff were great and with some forward planning were able to cater a wonderful home cooked dinner for all 4 of us, served in our chalet, both nights that we were there.
The kids loved it and there is enough space that they can run around and enjoy without bothering any other guests.
The only issues we had was that the DVD didn't work (the cables from the the TV to the DVD were missing, much to the disgust of our kids, and their is no wifi in the rooms - only in the main hotel building. I guess this is to be expected in the country, but unfortunately my mobile LTE router wouldn't work there either.
Otherwise it really was a great stay.
