We were pleasantly surprised. This upstairs detached single apartment near the Kootenai River was very comfortable and we hated to leave. It is a bit farther out of town than we expected (about four miles west of Troy) but with crowds and traffic during the 4th of July holiday in Troy, it turned out to be the perfect retreat. My son and I fished near the boat ramp across the street from the apartment and at the catch-and-release pond in Troy and caught plenty of fish. The people we met were friendly locals out walking their dogs or fellow parents taking their kids fishing. The apartment was well stocked with dishes, linens, and soap (of every sort needed). We were thankful it was air conditioned (came in handy with 100 degree temps), and we also enjoyed the comfy, shaded patio. The owners seem to be quiet hard-working people who have taken good care their place. They gave us space to enjoy our vacation but were available if we needed anything. My husband and I agreed we would return again given the security and comfort and quiet of the place. We haven't found anything else like it in our previous annual travels to the Libby/Troy areas. Well worth it for the serious fly-fisher person or quiet person who can appreciate a little piece of paradise in rural Montana.
