Owner description: Celebrating all things Yellowstone, the Flying Pig Adventure Company makes planning a vacation to Yellowstone easy. One call and you can set up anything from a quick float down the river to a complete vacation that includes lodging and an awesome activity package. Our activities include White water or Scenic Rafting, Horseback Rides, Fly Fishing, Park Tours and even shopping at our Camp Store. Above all else, we are best known for our friendly staff and excellent customer service. We love sharing the adventures of the Yellowstone area with our guests...And it shows! Many years ago, the Flying Pig got its start with whitewater rafting, and that is still the premier event today. Thousands of people have enjoyed our 8 Mile, 18 Mile and Overnight Rafting Trips on the Yellowstone River. We have awesome guides and our own private river access. In addition to whitewater trips, we also offer scenic floats for those who want to sit back, relax and soak in the views. Looking for a true Montana experience at a horse ranch? The Flying Pig offers horseback rides at a beautiful privately-owned alpine ranch just a few miles above town. The fun continues inside Yellowstone Park with Park Tours and Fly Fishing. In fact, we can take you fishing in some of the best trout rivers and streams in North America. We have also expanded to a second store location at 204 Park Street in Gardiner, where we offer a full complement of camping, hiking, fishing and apparel. Looking to experience Yellowstone first hand? Want to try something new? Give us a call and we will work with you to find just the right adventure. We encourage everyone to get out there and challenge themselves by doing something they never thought they'd do....To let their Pigs Fly!

We had a great time with Flying Pig last week. They did an excellent job start to finish from when we arrived at the shop to pulling the boats out at the end. We had the proper equipment and Tyler H. was a great guide. This is our second trip with Flying Pig and we will do it again next year!

What can you say. Great guides. Wonderful views. Equipment top notch. Did a horseback and overnight raft trip. Lasagna the guide made was great. I would definitely recommend this as a must do

We were worried about doing this with a ten year old, but we need not have. We had an absolute blast and there was enough excitement without any real danger. Highly recommend.. Tristan was a great guide and made the whole experience great fun.

Had high hopes for the half-day/3.5 hour trail ride which is coordinated through Flying Pig. The views for the first two-ish hours are fabulous, but then you enter the Mosquito Forest. I'm sure as the summer goes on, the mosquitoes diminish, but the views among the trees won't improve. Save time and money and go for the shorter ride.

We also never intentionally stopped, dismounted, or received much "guiding" from the guide (the only time he willingly talked was in the trees to explain the bear trap). No time for taking a picture when not bouncing around on a horse and holding the reins.

You are given little saddle horn bags, but you will have a hard time getting anything out of them because you likely won't stop and are warned to NEVER let go of the reins (which is fine advice, but forget figuring out how to get that water bottle or camera out).

The drive up was pretty out of Gardiner.

Hello and thank you for your feedback about the Half Day Ride. I am glad that you enjoyed the views up at the Johnson's ranch! It is set up high in the mountains and borders the Park...truly one of a kind. This has been a cool and wet spring and early summer and mosquitoes are out and about in a way that they normally aren't. I'm so sorry that they were a problem for you. It's interesting because most people are excited to go from the wide open views of the first half of the ride to the quiet peace of the forested areas. Plus, the forest is cool, which can feel great on a warm day and is a great place to see deer and elk on occasion. I will be sure to share with our incoming guests the need for some mosquito repellant, though. We want everyone to have a great experience!
