this park is amazing. great place to walk and enjoy the passing seasons. Gardens progress through each season with gardens bursting with color and life . Spring is particularly great. gardens start with daffodils and tulips and progress on through peonies, irises. THere are rose gardens, evergreen gardens, an english garden too. Statuary scattered throughout. then there is the butterfly house, free to enter but they accept donations. where you can view chrysalis of many different kinds of butterflies as well as the adult butterflies. Pokémon players can find lots of stops and gyms to visit as they walk, there are multiple play areas for kids all through the adjoined and connected Nathaniel greene and close parks, a lake, the greenway path runs through it for bikes. Only thing I would suggest for improvement is to ban drones from the park, they are just plain annoying to have flying over while you are enjoying nature.
and don't forget the occasional rock hiding and hunting that occurs there for fun for all through Springfield rocks fb group.

Great place to walk with family, kids, elders and catch the early blooms. Pretty nice sunset views. Parking is competitive around 5:30pm-6pm but easier before or after this short window.

A nice series of gardens and trails, and you can't beat the price. Access to everything but the Mizumoto Japanese gardens is free, and each of the gardens is within walking distance of each other (although you can drive if you like). This is a great place to take a stroll and take in nature.

We came to the Botanical Gardens for ideas for our back yard. The Hosta Garden was the main focus of our visit. The display was starting to go dormant, it is October, but there were still enough plants alive and beautiful for us to decide we need a hosta garden. The walk around all of the grounds was a nice walk.

Nice that it is free & connected to the Nathaniel Greene Park. The master gardener exhibition area is very enjoyable and worth the time to stroll through, especially if you are a flower lover. Since we were there so late in the season missed much of the beauty. The stroll through the different areas is enjoyable able, especially with all the benches & shade trees to sit & enjoy the view. There is a limited number of specimens but enough variety to be enjoyable. If planning landscape would be a great place to visit to see how mature specimens look. The butterfly house & garden was particularly enjoyable. Loved all the mature shade trees. Families would really enjoy this site. The audio tours are very helpful, just dial the number on your cell phone & punch in the display number. A nice place just to go & take a walk.
