“If your Going to the Arch”

Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Park
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Great museum that explains the history of the expansion of the west. The arch is part of this park. For better reviews you should visit the Gateway Arch review on tripadvisor.

The park around the Arch has vastly improved since our last visit in 2010, with nice landscaping having been completed and the Riverfront area has been tidied up considerably. The improvements are still ongoing around the Arch.
We took the trip to the top of the Arch which in the tiny “tram” up the leg of the Arch and once there the views over the city and the Mississippi are superb. The Arch itself is an outstanding piece of engineering and well worth the visit.
There was less to see in the large “foyer” area when waiting to climb the Arch than on our last visit but I believe the exhibits will be available once the improvements have been completed.

We did the Gateway arch and then spent some time touring the park. The park is very green and extends to the banks of the Mississippi River. on the river walk there is a nice statue dedicated to the Lewis and Clark expedition. This is a nice place to enjoy a picnic lunch.

the whole site is good for the family and the old courthouse especially if you are interested in history. while the courthouse won’t take that much time it is a nice walk back in time to learn about the past. it is a good activity to do if you are waiting for your turn on the arch team.
