After looking at a few options for hotels in downtown St. Louis before our trip, we chose the Hyatt Regency as it was very close to the Arch. This ended up being a great decision! Upon leaving the front doors of the hotel, you are literally across a (not busy) street from the paths leading to the Arch itself. This made it extremely convenient to duck back into our room between seeing the Arch and other stops on our sightseeing destinations downtown, which was very useful on days with bad weather.

The hotel itself was clean, and despite some noise and a lot of activity during the day, it was nice and quiet at night. We had upgraded our stay to have a 'Deluxe City-View' room. We each agreed that the 'City-View' portion of the upgrade wasn't necessary (we could see the Old Courthouse when we basically pressed our faces against the window), but the extra space of the Deluxe room was nice since we were staying for 3 nights.

The hotel has a very busy Starbucks off the check-in area which we utilized daily, and has a few internal restaurant options that offer a bit of variety for those without the time or desire to venture out seeking other options. Parking wasn't an issue for us to locate via the self-park option, but was a bit pricey at $29+tax per day. It seemed as though people arriving closer to the weekends may have had more challenges locating open spaces, but we had no issues ourselves.

All in all, we are happy with our choice to stay here, and would certainly do so again if returning to St. Louis.

The staff was great and so was the location! I was very pleased with how the staff worked with me in using my world of Hyatt points. Further, the room was clean, club level was great and you cannot beat the location - walking distance to arch ballpark village and many restaurants and bars.

This is our third visit to Hyatt St Louis by the Arch. Killer views and nice room. Parking is rather pricey if you valet ($39 a night). The rooms are affordable and the views of the arch can’t be beat. We will be back!!

We stay with Hyatt most of the time when we travel and collected a lot of points. We used the reward program to book two nights with this hotel. Prior to our travel, the Hyatt reservation rep told us on the phone that we couldn't choose the arch view room for our free nights. I wasn't too impressed because we'd spent a lot of money at Hyatt's properties around the world and when it came to reward, we could only have the room with a brick wall view. Anyway, upon arrival, I mentioned this to the front desk. This gentleman Keith - he was so kind. He upgraded our room to one of those super spacious rooms with two walls of windows river front with both views to the arch and the old court house. The view was incredible!! I couldn't thank Mr. Keith enough. He understood my frustration and knew exactly how to keep a loyal customer happy!

I definitely would give 5 stars to the hotel's super friendly/helpful front desk staff, location, décor. I like that Starbucks is right in the hotel too.

A few things I've noticed that definitely should be improved:
1) There wasn't any complimentary bottle water in the room. The only two bottles I found in the room is $4/bottle.
2) They refilled my coffee but didn't refill my tea bags or the creamer.
3) There wasn't coffee stir sticks.
4) I found some hair on the bed sheet.
5) The extra blanket in the room was super broken with tons of holes.

Room Tip: Corner room river front has the best view

We've been to St. Louis before, but this is our visit to this hotel Hyatt Reency St.Louis at The Arch. Our room had a beautiful view of the Arch! The room was a good size and we each had Queen size bed. It is close to all major venues. For our need this particular weekend we had tickets to the NY Rangers vs the St. Louis Blues Hockey game (St. Patrick's night) and The Eagles concert the next day March 18th. The arena was only 2 miles of the hotel and a very cheap taxi ride under $9.00.
The hotel has a Ruth Chris Steak house in the Lobby - we had eaten here before and every time we go we are VERY PLEASED. This hotel also has a Starbucks in the Lobby, as well as Valet Parking for $30/day. We also tried their late night room service the the food was very good.

Room Tip: When in doubt eat at Ruth Chris Steak House. If you want to eat quietly, try room service.
