It was 38 degrees this Easter Sunday, but we only didn't get to see a few of the animals. We had a great time (four 25-30 year olds). They have animals that not all zoos have. We got to enjoy each animal and it was fun watching them play with their Easter treats. There are plenty of bathrooms (thank God for this pregnant lady) and I got some amazing photos due to the openness of the exhibits and multiple view points. It is quite amazing that this zoo is free!

The zoo is great. We went in the middle of the day and some animals were hiding. We did get to see some active animals which the kids enjoyed. The environment for the animals is very well done. The zoo was doing some feedings at the time, so that was cool. I would recommend going but try finding street parking - parking lot is $15.

By far one of the best things about St. Louis and one of the better zoos in the entire country -- and it's free. If you don't live in St. Louis, you have to go. If you live in St. Louis, well skip this because clearly you know how awesome it is. Excellent way to spend a few hours or an entire day.

Not sure why San Diego's zoo gets so much attention. Check out the daily charge for San Diego and then St. Louis' zoo. I'll save you time, St. Louis is free. Having been to both I really was underwhelmed by the "famous San Diego" zoo after seeing our home town attraction. Yes, I'm a home-town guy but the St. Louis Zoo is free and I think easier to get around than San Diego's fine place. Do yourself a favor and try to avoid the hot months of July through mid-August. Heat and humidity tend to make very special smells at the zoo that not even popcorn can cover up. Perhaps the San Diego weather influences the "people" who claim San Diego zoo is the best.

The zoo is free, but you need to pay for parking. It was $15, per car, which seemed reasonable. The zoo was laid out nicely and the animals were active and easy to find. Some parts were under construction, but we still saw everything we wanted to.
