We called in after a walk near Cogra Moss. Sunday lunch was on the menu and we asked if it was possible to do a veggie option - they did a nut roast which was nearly as good as the one I make myself. The meals were huge and the beer was excellent. All very reasonably priced.

The staff are very friendly and the cake is amazing although I found a hair in my apple crumble. The curry is delicious and so is the lasagne and the Cumberland sausage, I highly suggest those. The food is quite cheap and definitely worth it. It is a nice chilled environment with full bookcases and sofas and toys.

The Ennerdale Brewery is a perfect stop-off point on a hike, but also deserves a special visit in its own right. The staff are warm and friendly, the interior is beautiful (a really good theme, authentic bar area and lovely kitsch cafe area), and the cakes looked delicious! Food and drink prices (including main meals and brunch) were reasonable, and we loved the range of local products and crafts for sale (try the local brewed beer)! as well as the brilliant selection of second-hand books, sales from which go to charity. A must-visit when in Cumbria - it's a little tricky to spot, but well worth finding.
