The staff are very friendly and the cake is amazing although I found a hair in my apple crumble. The curry is delicious and so is the lasagne and the Cumberland sausage, I highly suggest those. The food is quite cheap and definitely worth it. It is a nice chilled environment with full bookcases and sofas and toys.

The Ennerdale Brewery is a perfect stop-off point on a hike, but also deserves a special visit in its own right. The staff are warm and friendly, the interior is beautiful (a really good theme, authentic bar area and lovely kitsch cafe area), and the cakes looked delicious! Food and drink prices (including main meals and brunch) were reasonable, and we loved the range of local products and crafts for sale (try the local brewed beer)! as well as the brilliant selection of second-hand books, sales from which go to charity. A must-visit when in Cumbria - it's a little tricky to spot, but well worth finding.

Went for fireworks display which was really good and had jacket potatoes with curry and soup, it was a very good night with an open mike and everyone was very friendly.

Saw the brewery on Channel 5 programme with Tony Robinson and went on a wet, windy afternoon. The welcome could not have been more warming. Wife had a cheese scone which she said was one of the bester ever. Had a pint of Blondie which was just amazing and brewed at a strength that makes it a quaffing ale. Mom (Doreen) could not have been more obliging and, as we were staying B&B in a self-catering unit even sold us slices of pies she had just finished baking for our evening meal. They were superb. It was a really pleasant way to spend an hour chatting, drinking and eating. Great menu and NOT to be missed.
