A Disney Lover Must

The small Missouri town of Marceline is where the seed was planted for Walt Disney’s vision of Disneyland’s Main Street. The 10,000 square foot museum housed in the former train depot is chocked full of artifacts, memorabilia, correspondence and re-creations of the Disney family’s time in this quaint Missouri treasure.

Great little gem of a museum

Great museum for true fans of Walt Disney. Not really big, but some interesting artifacts and lots of family letters to read. The autopia car and Walt's schoolhouse desk were cool to see. Learned a lot more about the Disney family here than we did from the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco. I never even knew Walt had 3 brothers before going here! Museum only takes 1-2 hours depending upon how much you want to read. Some video displays told interesting stories, including how Walt and Roy returned to Marceline for the dedication of the Walt Disney Elementary and the municipal pool during their rise to glory. Highly recommend for the true Walt Disney fan!

Nice day trip from KC

My wife and I took a day trip to Marciline from KC to visit the museum. We had a good time looking at all the displays and artifacts presented there. It’s nicely setup and presented.

Must see

Must be a Disney fan first. This museum was amazing. This place tells the story of Walt Disney and the person he was. He really loved the people and the town he grew up in. They have a elevator so strollers or wheel chairs are not a problem. After the museum make sure you go to the barn and the area where Walt lived. You can also purchase a brick to put out side the front way. $125.

A must for all Disney fans

An absolute must for all Disney fans. In Marceline you can see the inspiration for Disney's Main Street U.S.A. in Marceline's Main Street, and then at this museum you can see how much Walt loved this town and how much this town loved him. It has interesting artefacts and information about the place where Walt and his parents and siblings spent their formative years. Entrance to the Museum was $10 per person for adults.
