Owner description: Imposing architecture and breathtaking scenery combine to make Ha Ha Tonka State Park one of Missouri’s most treasured spots. Located on the Lake of the Ozarks, the park features the stone ruins of a turn-of-the-20th-century castle built by a prominent Kansas City businessman high atop a bluff. More than 15 miles of trails traverse the park, leading visitors to sinkholes, natural bridges, caves and down to the lake.

I grew up around here and this is one of my favorite State parks in Missouri. Beautiful and varied scenery and plenty of unusual sights you won't find anywhere else. Only downside is no camping unless you're on the backpacking trail.

We stopped at the visitor center at the State Park and picked up great information. The closest parking lot for disabilities fills fast. We were able to park there. The park and walkway to the castle ruins are enhanced for persons with disabilities. There are big park benches all the way up the walkway for those that need to rest along the way. The overlook areas provide amazing views along the way. The castle ruins are stunning. You are able to walk around the outside to take pictures easily. This was a great stop on our family vacation. All ages would enjoy this state park.

Really unique! Parking is limited but close to the ruins. There are also hiking trails you can access from the same parking lot.

This is a must when visiting Lake of Ozarks area. Located just west of Camdenton off Highway 54. There are a few easy trails for hiking. One takes you to the ruins of an old castle type home built in early 1900's. If time is limited the highlights of the park can be viewed is 1/2 day easy. This attraction is FREE! Stop into the visitor center for the map.
