Although the lobby areas seemed fine, our room was uber basic and outdated. 3 of the 4 lamps didn't work, which made for trouble with our late arrival, especially since there was no overhead light. Tub/shower plumbing was loose in the wall.

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevators

We spent one night here while attending a play at Thalia Mara Hall. We stayed here with six other couples. When we arrived at Cabot Lodge, we checked in and then went into a large room off the lobby, where our friends were already taking advantage of the free drinks and freshly popped popcorn, which was also "on the house." There was at least one round table in the room large enough to accommodate our party, and there were several chairs in the room on wheels, which we moved over to the table to provide more seating. We also made use of this area for a party after we returned from the play. Other pros included microwave and minifridge in the room, a flat-screen TV, a decent breakfast buffet (although I noticed a long black hair in the gravy), and a reasonable rate. Also, the location is good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. One big con is that the whole place could stand a renovation, as most of the furnishings just look tired and old. The location is quite good if you're traveling to a function in the downtown area or any of several nearby hospitals/medical buildings.

The hotel is old but in pretty good shape. Lobby has a ski lodge feel to it. They have a happy hour and no charge for the beer. The breakfaat is pretty good. The hotel is in a good location. Close to restaurants. Drago's and Logans across the street

It's not new, but it is clean and well cared for. Solid breakfast and drinks at the afternoon reception. The staff had always been pleasant and willing to help. I will not stay anywhere else in Jackson.

This hotel gets worse every time I stay. It is in desperate need of a remodel. Carpets are filthy. Wallpaper is dirty and peeling. Water is brown. Toilet was dirty and not seated to the floor. Door was coming off its hinges and had to be lifted up to close. I'm not going back.
