This lodge was a little rough around the edges (needed a thorough spring clean!) but met our requirements for a week's stay during the Commonwealth Games. Coomera Train station is a 30 minute walk away (or a five minute drive, with ample free parking). The train gets you to Surfer's Paradise within an hour, or back up to Brisbane. There is a Coles supermarket within a 10 minute walk, however we would recommend having a car if you stay here and want to explore the local area fully. There are no local restaurants, although there are takeaways (Dominos etc) at a nearby shopping complex (with a Woolworths, bottle shop and petrol station).
We had 6 adults staying, so utilised the four bedrooms. One of the additional sleeping areas has no internal doors, so isn't suitable as a private, closed off sleeping area (better for children rather than adults).
The kitchen had ample equipment (although some of the dishes were dirty) but there was little in the way of condiments for use (such as oil, sauces, etc). On our first day, the kettle broke, but this was replaced within hours. The garden area had plenty of seating (again these needed cleaning), but would benefit from a couple of loungers or recliners.
As we stayed here for the Commonwealth Games, we were out nearly all day every day, so the lodge was perfect. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the lodge, you'd perhaps want to think about somewhere with a pool and somewhere a bit cleaner.
