Attentive waitress but food took a long time to come out of the kitchen. Blackened catfish, as the name might suggest, was charred beyond recognition. Fried catfish was better. Canned green beans and frozen fries a bit disappointing. Ants on the table and a cockroach on the floor might be a concern.

I have eaten here many times. The food is predictably good, portions are plenty. It is a “Delta Southern” old style restaurant. Small tables, a little crowded, nothing fancy, but the history of Clarksdale and surrounding community is shown by the walls and walls of photos displayed. Lots of regulars frequent this eatery and are always helpful with hints about the food and local sites to visit. I’ve never had to wait for a table. There is a counter where one can eat and visit with other patrons or the staff.

The Ranchero is not very inviting on the outside and is a little rundown inside. However, the server was very nice when she seated us, and the food was very good. We both had their pulled pork plate that came with beans, cole slaw and bread. It was excellent. If you are looking for good barbecue that isn't very expensive, and you don't care about the ambience, this is the place to go.

We went here for dinner one night while visiting. While the food was not great , it was good. My husband got the fried catfish which was really good and I had a small fried shrimp which were nothing to write home about. The coleslaw was excellent! This is just a very old school type diner. Service was good.

This place has been in business a long time and still is a local favorite. Not fancy, a bit run down, but good food at reasonable prices, and good service. It had a varied menu, from ribs & steaks to seafood, pasta dishes, burgers, fries etc. Ate there for dinner so don't know if it has a lunch or breakfast menu.
