My husband and I stayed for our anniversary. Check-in is from 3 to 5 but they left a key for us as we were going to be late. You get a key to the building but also to the lighthouse, there are two words that run in the daytime but the grounds is closed off to everyone but bed and breakfast guests after the close of the museum.
There are three rooms upstairs, I shared bathrooms, a half bath in the basement, and the kitchen, dining room, living room are all common areas. There is a skiff house that is private and also has a Jacuzzi, which you can rent as well. The rooms in the lighthouse have a queen bed, two sitting chairs, robes & towels, and extra blankets. The doors do have a three inch gap on the floor but we just put an extra blanket there and were fine with the noise.
Breakfast is served at 9 a.m., when we originally booked I thought that was too late in the mornings but we slept in and it was very wonderful. Eggs, fruit, fruit soup that everyone else has mentioned, a biggest good, water, juice, tea, or coffee.
Since everyone eats together it can be awkward or it can be lovely depending on how great you are a conversating.
I recommend this bed and breakfast for couples, singles, getaway trips, girls weekend.More
