Local friends invited us to join them on a trolley ride. Our driver, Bob, was both a font of local historical information and a very funny storyteller. The tour takes you from the waterfront up into the hills above, where you get to hear about the origins of Stillwater, see historical buildings and homes, and enjoy a pleasant ride on a trolley. The tour is roughly 45 minutes long.

Out of the three B&B's we toured, only one was truly a B&B; the other was a hotel and the third was a remodeled B&B house for rent. In addition, the one true B&B we toured, we only got to see a small portion of the house as there were people staying in it. The hotel was a waste of time, the presenter talked to the tour group in the lobby where it was very distracting and basically read her sheet of paper. Anyone off the street can walk into the Lowell Inn (hotel) and see what we saw on the tour (lobby, hall, eating area, and back room) - nothing special about this tour. We had anticipated seeing more of the traditional B&B's houses on this tour.

Learned about the birthplace of Minnesota. From seeing the houses of the lumber barons and river boat captains to hearing about what it was like at time Stillwater was booming and how the landscape of the area was much different then.

What an amazing experience at an incredible price. Not only did we get a Trolley Ride to Pioneer Park, but also an extended little history lesson on some famous houses in Stillwater! Additionally, a story teller, popcorn and a 20% coupon for a children's book. Love how all three of these businesses have come together to make a great family experience. This is something I would definitely do again.

We have taken the 45 min historical mansion tour twice and had a great time on each. The buses are open-air so it wouldn't be the greatest on rainy days. The seats are comfortable but sell-out early so I would recommend pre-ordering tickets on line. The tours are narrated by very friendly drivers. I highly recommend doing this tour!!
