The Royal Oak was one of a number of local pubs serving food which were listed by our B&B, and we enjoyed our visit. We chose vegetarian lasagne and - from the specials for that evening - the chef's secret recipe curry. Both went down well and portion-wise were near enough spot on: we certainly couldn't manage a dessert! They also keep a nice pint of Timothy Taylor's among their beer selection, and their Stella was perfectly ice cold on a scorching hot day. I might have hoped for a home-made naan with the curry, rather than the Wetherspoons-type catering pre-formed version which came with the very tasty aromatic chicken korma-like secret dish, but that is probably a bit picky on a busy evening. Try this place - you should like it!
