“Seaside comfort with beach on the doorstep”
Reviewed 7 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Everything we could want for a wonderful beach holiday. We had a lovely time exploring the beautiful Bay of Fires and surrounds. The Beach Pad was comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday. Wish it was closer so we could stay again.

I stayed at the beach shack for 3 nights after arrival in Tasmania and, overall, it is well equipped and comfortable. It really is less than 5 minutes meander to a wonderful empty beach which seemed safe for swimming and the shack was very relaxing in the evenings. We particularly enjoyed shucking oysters by the dozen from a nearby oyster farm ($10 for a dozen) and putting a dent in the local pinot noir reserves.

There were a few areas of disappointment though.

No LPs! That was a shame as I had been really looking forward to playing some tunes on vinyl.

Our first night was marred by my wife suffering an allergic reaction to dust in the living area. On further inspection, it seemed as if the living space had been overlooked for a decent clean. There was significant amounts of dust under the carpet, bits under the sofas. The glorious sunrise over the beach was seen through windows with handprints all over them. I didn't expect to find myself cleaning the living area on my first morning. Furthermore, heard nothing in reply from the owner about this issue. Thankfully, bathroom and bedrooms were all very clean and once the living room rug had been dispatched to the terrace for a few days, no more dust.

Evenings were very relaxing. We knew that the shack was on a road but were surprised by how much traffic noise there was during the day time.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay but didn't feel that tinge of regret about moving on as we left.

Hi Rob, I am so sorry to read that the start to your stay at the Beach Pad was marred by cleaning. I don't have any record of your message, although I am sure you did try to contact me, I am sorry. I would have ensured our cleaner comeback to take care of the dust.
I am glad to hear though that you were able to enjoy the local oysters and wine and I do hope the rest of your travels around the area and surrounding beaches did not disappoint.
Thank you again for your feedback, it is very important we know so that in future we can improve.
Kind regards
Ingrid

“Lovely designer beach house right by a lovely beach”

Beaumaris is a small place strung along the main road by a lovely (largely deserted) beach. You cross the road from the house take the short path through the bushes and you're on the beach. This is a place to chill out (there's no wi-fi anyway!) We didn't see any shops in Beaumaris but St Helens has everything and is only about 8 kilometers up the road. The house was lovely, modern (designer style), clean and very well equipped. There is a nice garden and laundry room, then you go up one flight of stairs to the terrace and main rooms of the house. The living/eating/cooking area faces front towards the road and sea (you can't see the sea due to the bushes on the dunes), and the bedrooms and bathroom are at the back. The furnishing was high quality and very comfortable. The record player and selection of LP was a very nice touch. The owner was friendly, we did everything by email as I think she lives some way away but it was no problem and the information packs in the house were very clear and comprehensive (though it took us a few minutes to locate the keys on arrival). We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.

“Brilliant”
Reviewed 27 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We stayed at this wonderful place for 2 nights on our trip up the East Coast, and are so glad we did.

The beach pad is beautifully decorated and wonderfully appointed, and didn't we give the bbq in the deck a nudge. Beds are amazingly comfortable; and the Nespresso machine is a great addition.

Love the location, opposite a long stretch of beach, and did enjoy the surfboard that was available. Amazing having a surf when there is not a others soil as far as you can see.

Short drive north to St Helens, many into Binalong Bay and the Bay of Fires.
Shorter drive south to Scamander.

We also enjoyed a drive out to the pun in the paddock and the st Columba Falls.

A couple of minor points, only having one bathroom meant mornings were a little hectic.; and having wifi would be a good addition

“Total Relaxation”
Reviewed 14 March 2016 for a stay in January 2016

We loved our stay at Beaumaris Beach Pad in January. Took the family for a weeks stay to Tassie and stayed 4 nights up the gorgeous North East Coast. We had the most spectacular weather, about 28 degrees each day. The house was so charming and beautifully furnished with some gorgeous arty quirks. A simple layout that suited our family of 4 perfectly. Its was super comfy and they had some great DVD's in the draw to choose from too to chill out for the evening. My favourite place was the sunny deck to sit and read a book, or lie on the grass in the garden. Their location really forces you to relax as its very laid back, just what we wanted.

We are keen surfers and managed to get some of the best uncrowded waves we have had in a long time. The local beaches were beautiful with such clear water. Unfortunately as the surf was so good we didn't explore Binalong Bay or Bay of Fires which aren't to far away, but that's a good excuse to come back and stay again.

There's a very simple pub within walking distance from the house which was a nice option for a night out. The house is a drive away to the nearest town of St Helen's (maybe 10 minutes) for shopping/food etc which was a great place to explore. Had a lovely afternoon eating oysters and prawns looking over the inlet there.

Thanks to the lovely owner Ingrid who was a great help with things to see and do, we will be back for sure.
