For as long as I can remember, this hotel and restaurant, plopped on an island in the Mississippi river in downtown Minneapolis remains a romantic getaway and venue. We came for dinner to celebrate an anniversary.

The setting, the interior, the views, and the history of the place-- while it can't be eaten-- can be savored and enjoyed. Which is exactly what we did. Thatt the food is good, but not great, did not spoil the evening.

The Nicollet Island Inn is just a great place to spend an evening, if not a weekend. A visit should be on your to-do list.

Room Tip: All rooms have great views.

My daughter and I travelled here for a school event and we stayed at this Inn for 3 nights. We were impressed by the decor and comfort this Inn offered, and the excellent menu at the restaurant. We had dinners at the restaurant on venue all three nights, and were never disappointed.

This Inn is close to downtown and yet you forget how close to downtown you are. We went for walks around the island and spotted beautiful wildlife such as a goose family and a fox family, and the houses on the island are quaint. I’ll definitely stay here again if I were to visit Minneapolis again!

We just had our daughter's wedding here and we couldn't rave enough about the absolutely wonderful experience we had here. From Ryan and Lindsay the event coordinators, to Andreas and Peyton the hotel managers and the ENTIRE STAFF, the service was SPECTACULAR!! They made us feel so special and welcomed us like it was their home. Everyone of our 100 guests has commented to us that this was one of the best weddings they have ever attended. The food was delicious, the venue was beautiful, and the evening was magical. We highly recommend this place not only for an event, but even a night away or even just dinner at the restaurant. 5 stars is not enough!!

It was a welcome relief to find a proper hotel that had escaped the plasnd ticising of the big chains like Marriott. The room was cosy and the staff were all very friendly, helpful, efficient and non-robotic. An issue with wifi was fixed in minutes by a very helpful person who came to the room. Real fresh coffee was available on each floor every morning, a nice change from 'make your own instant with the kettle in the room'.

Room Tip: They are probably all good.

My husband, our dog and I stayed at the Nicollet Island Inn in April 2018 and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. We travel often and have never encountered such a warm and attentive staff. From the moment we arrived, we felt well taken care of. The place is beautiful, very quaint and European and in a perfect setting--you are in the heart of the city but feel nestled away on beautiful Nicollet Island with the river flowing right past the windows and the park across the street. It is a very short walk over the bridge to St. Anthony Main and all the delicious restaurants and the theater. The Inn was very clean, our room was large and quite comfortable, very quiet and the bed was excellent. We ate in the bar and the restaurant while we were there and had excellent service and the food was quite delicious. There was a very nice sitting lounge where we were able to settle in, get some work done while enjoying the view and have a drink from the bar. The thing that absolutely stood out though, was how nice every single employee was that we encountered. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed, meet our needs and were great with our dog. We will definitely visit again!

Room Tip: Our corner king room was absolutely huge and so comfortable. Large sunny windows, sitting area and very quite.
