Cute place, located in an old school house, with a square tasting bar inside. Limited to no indoor seating to sip a glass. Their sweet wines were excellent, but we were a little disappointed with the service, granted two large groups had just come in, and our y server was not very attentive towards us as we were shoved into a little corner by one of the groups. Otherwise, would recommend!

Went on our party bus and it was fun with great service! We had a lot of fun and the root beer was fantastic!

We stopped here as we were driving through the peninsula in sweetest day. Very small but cute place. They had a decent amount of people in there and outside on the patio, we were greeted immediately and shown the menu for tasting options. I love the summer vacation! So sweet and refreshing! We took a bottle home along with some crackers! They also had these fun photo props so you could take pictures! This is a good place to stop if you are just interested in adding another winery to your list!

Disappointing.

The tasting room space, an old schoolhouse from the 1800s, is the best part of this winery. They've done a good job of retaining a lot of the original features of the schoolhouse and we enjoyed the room.

The tasting experience was average. We waited a long time to be recognized by the staff even though they were not busy. The person who did our tasting was friendly enough, but hardly focused--she was emptying a dishwasher while serving us, and the tasting had a going-through-the-motions quality about it.

The wine was unmemorable to bad. We're not especially into sweet wines, and most of the stuff to taste on the menu was sweet--so take our review with a grain of salt, since we tried the dry wines. None of them were very good; a couple were bad. Perhaps the sweeter stuff they make (apple wine, cherry wine, some rieslings, etc.) were better.

I'd look elsewhere; we had better wine and better tasting experiences at other locations.

‘Ello chaps!

The Traverse City area is a hidden gem for wine lovers. Most people think of Napa Valley for the best of the best, but boy are they missing out.

There are dozens of wineries in the Traverse City area, each offering their own signature wines, grown in the local vineyards.

Peninsula Cellars is a member of WOMP (Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula); a trail of 9 wineries, each with their own character.

This is one of the smaller wine tasting locations, their vineyard is elsewhere, but coolest ones as well. They converted an old one-room school house into this tasting room.

They charge $5 for a sample of five wines. Sorry, no souvenir glass to be kept here.
