Nice apartment style suites, some with an upstair room with multiple beds for sleeping. Mini full-kitchen. The Inn backs onto a park so it's quiet. There is a busy road in front, and you need to walk a bit to get to the cross-walk to cross over to the bay side. The wifi is not great - slow connections that are regularly disconnected. Things were missed by the cleaning staff -- trash not emptied upstairs+ but overall the room was clean and tidy. Would definitely, recommend and stay here again.

We would probably stay here again, but I think the excellent reviews here are a bit misleading. The Inn had friendly staff, the location is good, the pool is nice and clean (although a bit chilly). And the price is great. However, our room was very smelly - smelled like tobacco smoke and old furnishings. The decor was from the 80s at the latest and the bathroom was very tiny. While it was clean as is probably possible, the smell and old furniture just made it not very comfortable. If you're picky about a comfortable room, be careful.

Room Tip: Good value if you're not too picky

We booked 3 rooms through an online service. When we arrived there was 1 attic room for 6 adults!? The desk worker told us to take it or leave it, but he was "in the business of selling hotel rooms not giving refunds". Ended up spending an hour with the online service and driving an hour to the next town. Stay away from the Traverse Bay Inn.

Our cozy two story place was the perfect lodging for our two families. There was a queen size bed on bottom floor for one couple and two standard beds in the loft room upstairs for the family with two children. The living room/ dining/kitchen area was small but adequate for our six person party while we were cooking, dining and relaxing.
We enjoyed swimming in the heated pool after being in the cold water of Lake Michigan. The State Park Beach, Pirates Cove Miniature Golf and Traverse City Center are very close.

Annual "sister getaway"...What a great little motel! Very clean, very cute, everything we could need. Spoke with quite a few of the other guests and everyone was enjoying their stay at the Traverse Bay Inn, and Traverse City! Special thanks to Clint at the front desk for being so friendly and helpful, pointing out some great routes, along with some points of interest.
