Taking a scenic drive out Old Mission peninsula, we hung out long enough at the lighthouse beach to get pretty hungry. A quick online search showed that the tavern was the only game out on the peninsula. I was wary of the only restaurant around, but decided to go anyway.
We pulled up at a very tidy yellow tavern, filled with local art pieces and a welcoming staff.
To cut to the chase: I had the whitefish sandwich; my companions had the Whitefish Platter and the Beyond Burger. All dishes were excellent! My wife noted that if the three burger choices, two were non- meat alternatives. The ‘Beyond Burger’ was a fantastic facsimile of a medium rare sirloin burger - hard to believe it wasn’t beef.
A large back room serves as a sort of community center for locals - a great resource.
All in all it was a great lunch stop, as nice and delicious as could be.

Enjoyed a family celebration the shrimp appetizer is outstanding!
There was a shortage of staff which meant a delay in service.

We found Old Mission Tavern a delightful dining experience. The staff was warm and welcoming. The building and grounds were clean and kept. I enjoyed walking around and admiring all of the art that was displayed for sale so it was kind of like a restaurant/art gallery. Our server was very friendly and offered suggestions when prompted. The food was delicious! I would definitely recommend Old Mission Tavern.

Old Mission Tavern has great fresh food. Their dishes are beautifully crafted and use only the freshest ingredients. This sounds like what you would hear in an ad but it is the truth. They feature local food and local wine, too. The interior is clean and simple with a bar at the entrance and a store at the side. This is the best place to stop on the peninsula!
