The cabin was clean, and a very comfortable spot for us to come back to after sightseeing and kayaking. We were so happy to find such a nice pet friendly place. The river-front view is beautiful and peaceful. The perfect spot to relax. My only advice for other travelers is to bring lots of bug spray - being near the river means lots of mosquitos. For other travelers with dogs - there is a fantastic beach 2 minute down the road that welcomes your fur babes. The cabins are within just a short driving distance from all the other tourist-y sights you would want to see! We would definitely stay again!
We loved our stay there , The cottage was clean , the floor was a little lopsided and soft but a very nice area to view the falls and pictured rocks. The only thing that I would like to see you change was the couch and loveseat seemed like they could use a good cleaning . Overall I would rate it an 8 out of 10
This cabin was nice to come back to after a day of outdoor activities. It was a clean and quiet place. The owner was helpful in suggesting fun outdoor activities.
By and large, we were very happy with our stay! The location was great - secluded and quiet, but near to Christmas, Munising, and Marquette. The cottage was neat and clean, very comfortable and welcoming. Cory (the property manager) was friendly and responsive to questions and was eager to help us enjoy our stay.
There are a few things that could have been better explained:
1. Bring towels. A few are provided, but we weren't comfortable with only one bath towel per person (there were two of us) for our 8-day stay. Had we known only two would be provided, we would have simply packed some to bring along.
2. The listing notes that satellite TV is included, but that's a bit misleading. If you are expecting to be able to view live television, you'll be disappointed. There is a Roku player, so you can watch Netflix. We were out and about for the majority of the days, so it wasn't a big deal, but we were just a bit surprised.
3. Better directions for the gas fireplace would have been great. When we arrived, the fire leaped into action. We didn't know to simply turn the dial down to "1," so we turned it to "off." We had a very cold night and morning because the pilot light went out and the directions provided were not quite clear on how to relight that and get the fire going again. Cory was kind enough to come by and relight the pilot and let us know to not turn down below "1."
Aside from those couple notes, we would certainly recommend this vacation rental and, if we were to re-visit the Munising/Au Train area, would definitely stay again!
The cabin was perfect for my boyfriend and I for our trip to the UP. The cabin was the perfect size, and very clean. Everything we needed was provided in the kitchen. Parking was right next to the cabin, and the river in front of the cabin was awesome for a quick cast when we wanted. Cory was incredibly friendly and responded quickly to any of our questions before and during our stay. The cabins were a little hard to find, as we arrived late at night, but we will definitely be back!
