What a stunning setting! The chalets are build around huge rock boulders. The rooms are small but sufficient and super comfortable.
Unfortunately, upon our arrival there was no one at reception and we were not told about all the wonderful activities one can partake in. In fact our check in was a bit of a mess.
The restuart urgently needs more traning in food preparation, as our evening vegetarian meal was dreadful. We were served boiled gems with a dusting of cinnamon, boiled mealies and boiled marrows. How awful ! and the breakfast spread was just as disappionting. There is really no need to have such poor food as on our next nights stay at Gondwanas Desert Horse Inn, we had a fantastic meal and the breakfast there was perfect. Surely Canyon lodge can offer the same quality ?
We really loved the area and would love to return and hope management can improve the on the meals served.
