Description: This popular Mackinac Island eatery features a celebratory horse theme starring the 1938 true life story of the famous champion thoroughbred, Seabiscuit. The former 1800's bank building was renovated to reveal the original brick walls and hardwood floors transforming it into one of Mackinac Island’s most popular watering holes. A unique and casual menu appropriately fits this cozy café. Seabiscuit fans rave about the deliciously fresh menu options. Discover your new favorite cocktail, the Mamosa. Open 7am until 2am serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and creative cocktails.

Food was excellent! My husband got fish tacos and they were happy to accommodate his gluten allergy by substituting lettuce for flour tortillas. I had the white fish and chips. Fish was wonderful but fries were so so. Staff was excellent and we enjoyed our lunch. Looked like they offered takeout too.

Thank you for dining with us. Chef Anthony is happy to alter items for dietary requirements. The whitefish is locally caught and delivered fresh. The whitefish taco is very popular. We are happy that you enjoyed your meal.

We got a table right away. From time we were seated to the time we ate, I'd estimate it took 50-55 minutes to get our food.

BUT, the food was quite good. Wife had grilled lemon chicken with potatoes & asparagus, I had lasagna. Both were very good, as was the cheese crock appetizer.

We are happy to hear that the wait didn't ruin your experience with us. We deeply apologize for the wait. As you can see from the many other reviews, we are well known for our fast and friendly service. A large number of people are served in our popular cafe and occasionally we fumble. Please consider dining with us during future Mackinac Island visits so that we may dazzle you with our timely and pleasant service.

Fish is heavily battered and greasy. BLT had 3 slices of bacon. Not enough bacon to cut one slice of bread in half to make sandwich. Wait staff seem to not care. Others waiting to be seated. Establishments know visitors are stuck on island and some take advantage of that fact.

Our culinary team puts a lot of work into creating and executing quality meals with generous portions. As you can see from a number of other reviews our cafe is popular and well liked. We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your the whitefish. It is one of our most raved about menu items. We'd love for you to stop in again so that we may find something more to your liking from our diverse menu.

We had sandwiches and fish tacos. The food was yummy and they had unique sauces. Very good food and service.

This cafe has some of the best salads and cocktails on the island. The staff are always friendly and this is a great spot to make new friends!
