Looking for authentic,, fresh mexican like you'd find in Cabo San Lucas or a beachy resort? Go to las Palapas.....although it isn't beach front, use your imagination the food is fresh and the menu extensive. Tilapia on half a pinapple is yummy, the shrimp fajitas delicious and everything tried great. Had to take home the left overs which we never do. Can't wait to go back. Call ahead for reservations, the place is packed on the weekends.

Been there a number of times and haven't been disappointed yet. Love the chirizo burrito. I recommended this restaurant to friends and they couldn't say enough wonderful things about it. Please try it I think you'll be surprised it's different then most Mexican restaurants in the area.

We ate at Las Palapas for the first time a couple weeks back. We're always on the lookout for some good Mexican cuisine, and when we got the coupon in the weekly-coupon mailer we thought it looked good so we decided to give it a try.

We had a very good waitress. She was in good spirits and attentive. She was appauled when it took a few minutes for the chips and salsa to get delivered (coming even after the guacomole we ordered with it) and her concern made up for the delay. She knew the menu well and was a pleasure.

I got a combo plate with an enchalada, burrito and taco. They let me mix meats between them and had no problems with our high-maintenance customizations. Food was tasy and plentiful, more authentic than you'll see at Chili's or whatever, but still maybe americanized just a little bit. It was very good - tasty, hot and fresh.

We didn't really care for the atmosphere however. The restaurant sits at the end of a strip mall, which isn't an issue really, but the ultra bright lights and drop ceiling would be better with some softer lighting. Just kinda felt a little like a department store, though that's a bit extreme. The big issue with the room was the fact that there is no vestibule at the front door. We were sitting towards the middle of the room and it was a cold night - everyime someone came or left a gush of cold air came blowing by.

The atmostphere wouldn't keep us from going back though. We enjoyed the food enough to go back, but they should work to improve those things.
